Performance Achievement & Results
- Risk Management Control and Quality Assurance
- Maintain proper pool operations and management.
- Management, quality, and growth of aquatic programming/operations
- Compiles monthly statistics to monitor participation and impact in operations/programming.
- Help develop, implement, and monitor the annual Aquatics budget.
- Use data-based decision-making for program/operational decisions.
- Audit staff to ensure staff readiness.
Program Management/Operations
- Initiation and implementation of aquatics programming/facility operations
- Recruit, train, develop, support, and directly supervise aquatics staff in conjunction with association hiring efforts.
- Plan, evaluate, and ensure all necessary in-services are completed as appropriate.
- Help review and certify the accuracy of department payroll.
- Ensure monthly pool and safety audits are completed, including review to ensure current staff certifications.
- Ensure aquatics information is complete and up to date in the member services system, website, and mobile app at all times.
- Respond to all member and community inquiries in a timely manner.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals at least once a year, as well as staff appreciation/recognition, coaching, and progressive discipline when necessary.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and manage multiple program areas.
- Communicate all aquatic-related programming and events via social media, online, and through all intra-center and inter-center methods available.
- Responsible for both Center operations and supporting Center initiatives.
Leadership
- Representative to Impact Team for Aquatics
- Create a positive and motivational environment for all staff.
- Serve as a Cause Driven Leader on Duty and/or Director on Duty according to center schedule, and complete CDL report.
- Provide leadership and coaching to department teams as well as all center teams.
- Liaison for Project SAFE and other youth development and grant-funded programs
- Thorough understanding of the mission and objectives of the Greater Austin YMCA.
- Ability to manage projects and coordinate events in conjunction with other staff members and volunteers to achieve long and short-range goals of the Association.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
