The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles (the Y) is seeking a cause-driven youth development professional to lead, manage, and oversee our School-Age Out-of-School Time department, including before & after school programs, day camp programs, and expanded learning programs. The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles (the Y) currently operates both licensed and licensed-exempt before and after school and out-of-school time expanded learning programs at fifty (50) elementary schools and day camp programs at around eighty (80) elementary school and Y branch sites, throughout Los Angeles County.
We are seeking a dynamic leader who will, with the support of a senior program leadership team, increase the Y's impact and footprint in the before and after school and expanded learning space, through strategic leadership and targeted partnerships. In alignment with the Y's Center for Community Well-Being strategy framework, the Vice President, Youth Development, will be instrumental in the execution of the Y's cradle-to-community well-being youth development strategy, which aims to create a pathway for success for every child in Los Angeles, through programs, services, initiatives and advocacy.
The total annual operating budget for this department is 18M+. This position reports to and is supported by the Chief Youth Development Program Officer. This position will supervise five (5) direct reports (three (3) Operations Executive Directors, one (1) program coordinator and one (1) Senior Program Director). Your team supervises an additional 300+ youth development directors, coordinators, and direct-service staff. In addition, this position will be a contributing member of the Y's youth development strategy leadership team, consisting of executive staff who oversee early learning, preschool, teens, youth sports, and other youth-focused programs at the Y.
This is not a remote position. Position will be based out of either a San Fernando Valley, West Los Angeles (LAX) or Santa Clarita Valley location.
