DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
●        Bachelor’s Degree and two years of relevant experience in a youth development and/or a community outreach role.

●        Bilingual (Spanish/Vietnamese/Mandarin) preferred.

●        Experience working with young people who are seeking support with their wellbeing.

●        Strong knowledge of youth needs, culture, and networks.

●        Experience working with BIPOC youth populations in a virtual and/or community setting.

●        Experience designing and implementing youth curriculum in a community.

●        Experience working with youth advocacy and youth development organizations.

●        Strong understanding of Child and Adult Protective Services rules and regulations, HIPAA, mandated reporting, and limits of confidentiality preferred.

●        Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

●        Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

●        Fingerprinting and background checks as required by Stanford University.

●        TB clearance required.

●        Valid driver’s license and insurance required.

●        Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required.

 

Skills and Abilities:
 

●        Initiate and maintain supportive relationships with young people in a virtual and in a 1:1 setting.

●        Aware of the specific needs of youth culture and modes of communications.

●        Is youth-centered and able to identify youth needs in the moment and respond in a compassionate and responsive manner to support the young person.

●        Demonstrates compassionate behavior in interactions with young people with an emphasis on good listening skills and a capacity for responding to youth needs in the moment.

●        Capable of observing and responding to youth who may need additional support or follow through.

●        Conflict resolution and motivational interviewing skills.

●        Knowledge base of youth curriculum development and holistic approaches to supporting youth wellbeing.

●        Able to perform job duties independently, with direct support from the Project Lead.

●        Skilled in responding to a high volume of correspondence in a timely manner (e-mail, social media, instant messaging apps, etc)

●        Experience utilizing best practices in engaging with youth advocacy and youth development organizations and networks

●        Ability to approach difficult youth interactions using youth centered approaches that respect the youth’s identity, lived experience and goals.

●        Strong knowledge base of models and systems that support youth on a state and national level.

●        Strong knowledge base of systemic issues and risk factors facing BIPOC youth population.

●        Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to gather and process information to support the Strength in Youth project and its team.

●        Strong communication skills: ability to speak, listen, and write clearly, thoroughly, and professionally.

●        Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, accountability, reliability, and punctuality.

●        Competency with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, as well as graphic design and project management applications.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
 

Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
 

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·        Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

·        Basic analysis and problem solving skills.

·        Customer service skills.Relevant computer systems/technology experience.

·        Understanding of financial transactions.

·        Ability to learn compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.

Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

 The expected pay range for this position is $66,560 - $85,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
