Position Summary:
In close partnership with the Senior Director of Strategic Learning & Impact, CALI’s Director of Monitoring and Analytics is responsible for defining and implementing data analysis strategy for GLIDE’s impact divisions – Programs, the Center for Social Justice, and GLIDE Memorial Church –to meet organization’s strategic learning goals by leveraging internal service data; data from internal evaluation and research; and external demographic and other field-based data when needed. This role must collaborate across divisions to drive data quality, data security, and contract/grant compliance.  
 
The successful candidate will have experience in collaborative, cross-systems problem solving; using quantitative data to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of organizational initiatives, processes, and strategy; and managing daily data analysis operations of a team in support of organizational goals and needs. A successful candidate will also have demonstrated experience in leading, supporting, and developing a team to implement best-in-class data analysis.  
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Lead GLIDE's development as a learning and impact organization by establishing and implementing a clear strategy, and the necessary systems and processes to monitor, track, and regularly report on service data from GLIDE’s impact divisions for learning and contract compliance.  
    • Collaborate with the Director of Research, Evaluation, and Learning to develop and regularly update clear measurement plans for each impact division that specify the tools, metrics, and timelines for specific points of data collection to capture, analyze, and make meaning of GLIDE’s impact as defined by the GLIDE Forward organizational strategy.  
    • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders – including, but not limited to, Fund Development, Finance, Programs, and Data Systems – to ensure that GLIDE can effectively monitor progress and track compliance with programmatic grants and contracts.  
    • Lead CALI’s MA team on data analysis projects: establish clear workflows, project plans, timelines, and deliverables; allocate human, time, and material resources effectively to meet organizational goals. Provide technical direction to analytic activities and M&A CALI team members to ensure high quality project processes and deliverables.  
    • Supervise MA staff on CALI, implementing a coaching and mentoring approach to supervision. Identify and implement professional development activities for junior team members to ensure that CALI’s Monitoring & Analytics staff have the necessary skills to effectively execute CALI’s data analysis strategy.  
    • Facilitate and guide the team’s efforts around data visualization for a variety of internal and external stakeholders. 
    • Serve as point of escalation for project issues, including responding to internal stakeholders, resolving issues, solving problems, and helping team members iteratively adapt  
    • Build collaborative relationships across departments at GLIDE to maintain clarity around shifting needs for CALI’s Monitoring & Analytics work, and to communicate CALI’s needs to accomplish the work. 
    • Partner with the Sr. Director of CALI and Director of Research, Evaluation, and Learning to develop and track CALI measures of success. 

Qualifications:

    • At least 6 to 8 years of monitoring data for contract and program-based work (preferably in a non-profit). 
    • Some experience working with program and impact evaluations including research tools, data collection, data analysis, and report writing.  
    • High level understanding of the complexities of governmental contracts and foundation grants. 
    • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting statistical and other data found in reports relevant to programs or projects. 
    • Ability to perform mathematical calculations with speed and a high degree of accuracy. 
    • Must be proficient in STATA. 
    • Significant experience cleaning, preparing, and analyzing large datasets from complex, evolving databases.  
    • Commitment and hands on experience implementing systems-driven solutions for scalable and sustainable impact. 
    • Must be a strong leader who has direct experience developing staff professionally and building solid teams. 
    • Ability to lead, prioritize and manage strategic goals and initiatives. 
    • Strong analytical skills. Must have the ability to research, analyze, and communicate program goals and outcomes. 
    • A team player who can work with a variety of internal and external constituencies.  
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, balance multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and thrive in a complex environment with multiple priorities. 
    • Exceptional skills in report writing and developing communications for audiences with different relationships with data.   

Preferred Qualifications:

    • BA degree 
    • Data analytics consulting experience 
    • Experience using other statistical software packages (SPSS, R, Python, etc.), and data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) 
    • Experience with database management and querying strongly preferred.  
$130,000 - $150,000 a year
