Job Description

Job Summary

The Personal Trainer is responsible for performing assessments, providing package prescriptions, answering fitness and wellness related questions, and helping to sell personal training packages. They should also be responsive to members and guests by offering assistance, and educating ERJCC fitness members on the safe and correct use of cardio and weight training equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be professional with all members, employees, clients, and co-workers.
  • Schedule and conduct FIT sessions.
  • Support, teach, and encourage members to meet their fitness goals.
  • Help to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly fitness floor, racking weights, picking up towels, water bottles, etc. as necessary.
  • Schedule all clients through Spectrum NG.
  • Help members on the fitness floor.
  • Provide members and employees with knowledge of exercise principles.
  • Contact members to schedule fitness program updates.
  • Work together as a team with all departments.
  • Keep certifications and CEUs current.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Develop relationships and encourage member referrals.
  • Enforce ERJCC policies such as cell phone use, etc.
  • Attend fitness department and fitness training meetings.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new fitness programs/classes.
  • Wear ERJCC uniforms.
  • Keep an updated accurate schedule of clients and communicate changes with the receptionists on a day to day basis.

Qualifications

  1. CPR and first aid certifications
  2. Minimum one (1) nationally recognized certification from one of the following; ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NASM, NSCA, NSPA, ISSA, NCEP
  3. Operational knowledge of resistance training equipment and proper form
  4. 4-year college degree in fitness related field or Personal Training Certification from an accredited organization (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, etc…)
